Pallets

This means that that can stack and nest inside one another which makes them space saving for storage and transportation. These products are generally lighter and take up far less space when stored in a warehouse or on a vehicle. (we can show image illustration)

These pallets are designed to be used in warehouse style racking and will have specific load capacity capabilities that allow them to store a certain weight of products safely on racking

There are three common load capacity figures given for a plastic pallet.

  1. Static Load – this is
  2. Racking Load – this is
  3. Dynamic Load – this is

Heavy duty pallets are used for heavy loads and are made to be strong. They are robust and should last for several years or 2-300 trips

These are designed to get a great balance of the ration between weight and strength and are particularly useful where carriage is calculated by volumetric weight such as air freight. It is impossible for wooden pallets to match plastic in terms of the weight to strength ratio potential

Closed deck pallets have a solid flat base whereas open deck pallets have openings or perforations. These can make a different in weight and or strength.

Pallets can be made of recycled plastic or from brand new or ‘virgin’ material. Pallets made from recycled plastic are normally black or dark grey in colour. Virgin pallets are a much lighter grey. If a different coloured pallet is required, then virgin material must be used. Both recycled and virgin plastic pallets can be recycled at the end of their useful life.

These are for use in a large range of industries including logistics and automotive businesses, distribution pallets are utilised for highly efficient transportation of goods. Our distribution pallets are specifically designed to be strong enough to carry enormous weight and withstand general wear and tear, while being light enough to easily move by hand when empty

Pool pallets are designed to be used with an internal closed loop system where they are sent out, brought back to the depot and reused time and time again. For this they need to be designed to be strong enough to carry heavy weights and withstand general wear and tear along with being light enough to easily handle manually at the various locations they are used.

Automation pallets are designed for use in machine-operated warehouses. Automation pallets are ideal for storage applications where plastic is a necessity and can be used in many different industries but often in the food and drink industry as well as FMCG.

A food grade pallet is a very strong plastic pallet that is made from a virgin material that is certified as suitable for us e in the food industry and will help prevent contamination and is easy to clean. They are often made from one single piece of plastic without and joins or grooves.

Food grade pallets are very strong and are ideal for meat, food and pharmaceutical companies due to their capabilities to prevent dirt from building, and their easy to clean surfaces. A food grade pallet is certified for use in the food industry. A hygiene pallet has all the features of a food grade pallet but without the guarantee of conformity.

Hygiene Pallets are plastic pallets that are easy to clean and have few places for dirt or contamination. Their design prevents the build-up of dirt and makes them easy to clean. These pallets normally come with a smooth surface deck for placing goods. They are commonly used in the food, drink and pharmaceutical industries but are now becoming more prevalent in other industries and uses because of their suitability for automated systems and their robustness.

H1 pallets are designed specifically for the meat processing and food industries where the company’s package, store and distribute food goods, they are an excellent option for many uses

Display pallets are used a lot withing the retail industry and are normally half euro or quarter euro pallet size. They are set up with goods for easy of merchandising in the end location.

A Container pallet is a pallet that is normally square in shape and is designed to fit easily side-by-side within a shipping container and are generally space efficient

A standard pallet is 1200mm by 1000mm or 1.2m by 1m in size. They are referred to as standard UK pallets as they are the most common size traditionally used in the UK

Yes, pallets that are 1200 x 1000mm or 1.2m x 1m are generally referred to as standard pallets in the UK or a UK Standard Pallet

A Euro pallet, sometimes called a European pallet, EPAL Pallet or an EU pallet are normally 1200mm x 800mm or 1.2m x 0.8m in size

Yes, pallets that are 1200mm x 800mm or 1.2m x 0.8m in size are referred to as Euro pallets, sometimes also EPAL Pallets, European Pallets or EU pallets. They are commonly used across Europe and the EU and have a  broad range of uses.

A half Euro Pallet is 800mm x 600mm or 0.8m x 0.6m in size. Half Euro pallets are just that in terms of size they are half the size of a full Euro pallet – like it has been cut down the middle on the long side

Pallets measuring 800x600mm or 0.8m x 0.6m are called Half Euro pallets are half the area size of standard Euro pallets.

A quarter euro pallet is 600mm x 400mm or 0.6m x 0.4m and is quarter of the area size of a normal Euro pallet

These small pallets are only 600x400mm in size which makes them ideal for display purposes and for the transportation of small goods.

A square Container pallet is a pallet that is designed to fit side-by-side within a shipping container and are square in size which makes them space efficient

These square pallets are designed for shipping container use in order to gain the optimal number of pallets on the floor space and so that they can easily fit side by side inside a container.

Yes, we do from stock a few larger pallet sizes – namely 1300mm x 1000mm but we can get any pallet size made by special order. This would however be subject to minimum order levels which would depend on the size and type of pallet. Please contact us for more information on our bespoke service.

Yes, 1300 x 1000m pallets are a normal stock line for us but only in certain pallet types. They have that increased size when a standard pallet is just too small.

A USA pallet is often called a GMA pallet and is normally set in Imperial dimensions (inches) and are 48 inch x 40 inch in size (48” x 40”) These pallets differ slightly in size slightly to standard ISO sized pallets which are 39.37x 47.24in, US pallets measure at 48x40in and are most popular in North America.

Yes, we stock and sell 48 x 40 inch pallets often known as GMA, US or American pallets.

Yes, we can produce any pallet size, colour or design made by special order. However, this would be subject to minimum order levels which would depend on the size and type of pallet and what the bespoke elements are. Please contact us for more information on our bespoke service.

Yes, in theory we can make or get made, any pallet in any size, colour with or without personalisation for you. However, there are often large minimum order quantities required for production and substantial additional costs for bespoke pallets. Please contact us for a quote.

A pallet box is a box that is made in the same footprint dimensions as a pallet. They come in the most common pallet sizes – Standard 1200x1000mm, Euro 1200x800mm, Half Euro 800mmx600mm and can be made of different materials, heights and can be collapsible or ridged.

Collapsible pallet boxes are plastic pallet boxes that are designed to collapse and fold down to be much smaller when not in use and for ease of return transportation and storage. When open and locked into place they form a strong and robust pallet box which is suitable for many purposes but have a advantage of being easily stored and transported when empty and collapsed down. Collapsible pallet boxes are great when used in a closed loop operation where goods are sent one way and the empty containers are stored or returned to the depot for reuse.

Rigid pallet boxes are strong and solid and are therefore used for heavy goods and in operations where they are either not being transported or space is not an issue. They are also used where strength is required over flexibility. Ridged pallet boxes such as Dolav style pallet boxes can be made from a single mould of plastic and are often used in the Food, Drink and Pharmaceutical industries because they are more hygienic and are easily cleaned. Rigid pallet boxes can be solid in construction or they can have perforations. Perforated pallet boxes are often used in the fresh produce and food industry.

Rigid pallet boxes are made from solid sides that do not move and so provide strength and durability but cannot be folded and remain the same size and shape.

Collapsible boxes provide the same function as ridged boxes although due to their design are not quite as robust, but they can be folded down to be much smaller when not in use and for ease of return transportation and storage.

Yes you can. We carry spare doors and sides to replace any that may get damaged by accident and we can also create any combination of doors and sides for our Hercules boxes from no doors to 4 doors.

Dolav is a brand name for a type of rigid pallet box that is made from a single piece of moulded plastic and is therefore very hygienic and easy to clean. Our Dolav compatible boxes are not supplied by the brand Dolav but are equivalent products and we think even better. Dolav boxes are used a lot in the food, drink and pharmaceutical industries where hygiene is required, and contamination needs to be controlled.

A Polycrate or Poly Crate is a collapsible pallet box but is made in at least 3 sperate parts – a base pallet, a wraparound plastic sleeve and a lid. When all are locked into place, they create a very robust plastic crate that is much lighter than a normal collapsible pallet box but works in a similar way. The advantage of these as just like the collapsible pallet box they can be dismantled and stacked for return transportation or storage. Polycrates are used a lot in the manufacturing and automotive industries but are very versatile and can be used in a variety of situations.

Polycrates are used a lot in the manufacturing and automotive industries but are very versatile and can be used in a variety of situations. They are strong and long lasting and are great in closed loop operations where they are either used both ways or returned as empty and folded down to the central point. Their collapsible nature means that storage and return transport costs are less than a rigid pallet box or crate.

Polycrates are made from plastic. But as they come in three parts the base pallet and lids are made from Black twin sheet HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) and the sleeves are made from 10mm Polypropylen-Trilaminate as standard, but thicker and stronger sleeves can be supplied.

Yes, most of our pallet boxes are made from virgin plastic and as such are hygienic and easy to clean. We sell Dolav style rigid pallet boxes that are specific designed to be hygienic and for the food, drink and pharmaceutical industries. Our normal rigid pallet boxes and our perforated rigid pallet boxes are also suitable and very good where hygiene is required in the application.

Yes, we supply Dolav style pallet boxes that are designed for use in the food industry.

A flexicrate is another name for a pallet collar crate and is a crate that it made up from a base pallet, one or more pallet collars and then a lid. Once all are in place this forms a strong crate. These can come in wood or plastic – plastic or wooden pallets, plastic or wood pallet collars and plastic or wooden lids. The height of the flexi-crate can be set by the number of pallet collars that are used. Pallet collars are approximately 200mm in height so the crates can be set at incremental heights of 200mm. Pallet collars have either 4 or 6 hinges which means that they fold when not in use and can be stacked.

A collar is a wooden or plastic frame that goes around a pallet perimeter and stack upon each other to give a pallet rigid sides that help contain the pallet load. Pallet collars are sometimes referred to as Pallet Sides or V-Sides. Pallet collars have either 4 or 6 hinges which means that they fold when not in use and can be stacked. Pallet collars are approximately 200mm in height so the crates can be set at incremental heights of 200mm. We do sell some pallet collars that are 400mm in height.

This will depend on the exact operation and the type of goods being moved around within that closed loop operation. However, for this type of scenario a crate or pallet box that can be collapsed or separated to reduce the size and space that it requires when it is empty and not in use is generally the best option. A pallet box or crate that collapses down to be in sperate parts or a smaller single unit will save on storage space and vehicle space when transporting the empty containers and therefore can save both return and storage costs.

Stacking Euro containers or Eurocontainers are plastic boxes that are very versatile. They are sometimes called Euro boxes or euro bins and are used for goods movement and storage in manufacturing and distribution industries a lot. Euro containers are uniform in terms of footprint or base size and so are designed to interlock and stack together to fit on pallets and on racking perfectly. The standard sizes also mean that they are ideal for automated storage and picking systems and warehouse automation.

Yes, we sell lids for all of our euro containers and in fact you can buy them with the lid as a unit as well as separate and without lids.

Yes, we have a wide range of accessories for Eurocontainers, we have lids, locking clips, document clips and various combinations of container dividers to split the containers into compartments. We also sell euro container dolly’s which are special wheeled trolley bases that fit the euro containers perfectly and allow then to stack for ease of movement around a warehouse.

The standard footprint sizes for Eurocontainers and Eurocrates are 300x200mm, 400x300mm, 600x400mm and 800x600mm, we also sell some 1000x400mm ones and other sizes are available to obtain as bespoke items. The heights of the boxes and crates vary and we carry in stock as a rule most options in heights of 120mm, 175mm, 230mm, 290mm, 340mm & 450mm. They can also come with open or closed handles.

The heights of the eurocontainers vary and we carry in stock as a rule most options in heights of 120mm, 175mm, 230mm, 290mm, 340mm & 450mm but we can get other heights but are generally subject to minimum volume requirements.

Yes, we can. For Euro containers, most of the stock that we carry are in plain light grey, but we do stock some sizes in a light blue and a pink/purple. We can obtain specific colours and add branding although minimum order quantities would apply.

Obviously this will depend on the size of the Eurocontainers or Eurocrates you are using but each layer will be as follows based on the footprint of each box size:
300x200mm = 16 per layer
400x300mm = 8 per layer
600x400mm = 4 per layer
800x600mm = 2 per layer

Obviously this will depend on the size of the Eurocontainers or Eurocrates you are using but each layer will be as follows based on the footprint of each box size:
300x200mm = 20 per layer
400x300mm = 10 per layer (in a staggered configuration)
600x400mm = 5 per layer (in a staggered configuration)
800x600mm = 2 per layer (but with 200mm spare)

Euro picking bins are picking bins with one end open or open fronted that are set at a standard euro container footprint size of 600x400mm base. They can be stacked or placed on shelving. The open front give easy access for picking or replenishment of the goods inside the box.

A eurocrate is sometimes referred to as a perforated euro container and is the same footprint as a standard sized euro container. They are generally 600x400mm and we stock 100mm and 150mm heights. Other sizes, heights and colours are available to order.
